Why does Valium make me feel sort of slow and stupid?

Not for me I tell ya...Tom Science 4
Answer:
Valium is a benzodiazepine which is used clincially for antianxiety, skeletal muscle relaxant, and anticonvulsant. It works by depressing all levels of the central nervous system by binding to the benzodiazepine receptor sites on the GABA receptor complex (major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain) and produces an elevated seizure threshold and skeletal muscle relaxation.
Just like Depakote do not drink alcohol while on this drug as alcohol will increase the depressant effect. This is also metabolized in the liver, so be sure to be compliant with your blood tests!!
Do not rapidly withdrawal from this drug or stop taking it without contacting your physician. Abrupt stoppage will result in pronounced restlessness, irritability, insomnia, hand tremors, abdominal/muscle cramps, vomiting, seizures, and with epilepsy it can increase seizure activity.
because it is a narcotic
It is a benzodiazepine. These compounds are used a tranquelizers.
tranquelizersHope that helps!
Because it's a happy drug!
