why is a 'roach' of a joint called a 'roach'?

why why why?!
Answer:
it was named in honor of Hal Roach, the producer of the Three Stooges shorts, who was a serious pothead.Kind of makes sense. Have you ever watched the Three Stooges stoned? Not only are those guys totally hilarious, you know someone was smoking something to come up with those antics. Curly was off the hook!
If I told you, your brain would explode.
the roach of a joint is called a roach because when you "ash" it,you roach it,plus i guess it's a slang made up by hippies in the 60's,it's just like why do they call a gram of weed a "DIME"
it's just a name for it...
smoke two and leave it in the ashtray to ask yourself
from what I understand growing up and around it it get resinated and is small and looks like one save your money buy a house don't smoke weed
because the last 2 or 3 hits were allways held by a clip most electricians used in the 1960's to 1970's called a roach clip to hold it and to keep from burning their fingers hence the name of 'a roach'
A Roach is vernacular for the remainder of a spliff after most has been smoked. It is derived from the Mexican Spanish slang term for marijuana, la cucaracha, "cockroach". These can be smoked further through use of roach clips. They are often discolored to a yellow-brown by the build-up of resin.
Because the smokers are so greedy that they continue smoking the weed until it resembles a tiny microscopic roach!
